My name is Regina Spatarella (spah-tuh-rel-lah) & I am a graphic designer who cannot go anywhere without recognizing a typeface or taking a photo of a logo I like.
I graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design from Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia. I am currently a full time graphic designer at mdg (Marketing Design Group) in their Reston, Virginia office.
Graphic design is one of the biggest elements of my life—I've been exploring the elements of graphic design even before I knew what graphic design was.
During my senior year of high school, I discovered my passion had a name & a field, & decided to pursue my Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design at Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia. There I honed my skills & learned about typography (one of my favorite elements of design), layout, deadlines, & more.
In my final year at Marymount, I completed my senior Honors thesis on the prevention of teen pregnancy through increased parental involvement, with a focus on the DC area. This included a written research paper and a social marketing campaign. This project incorporates my love of marketing, research & information design.
Shortly before graduation I was hired as a full time Graphic Designer for the Retail & Restaurant Division at Thompson Hospitality, where I designed & produce marketing & promotional materials for both web & print, restaurant menus & help manage social media & marketing strategies. Currently I am part of a marketing and communications team with mdg in their Reston, Virginia office.
